I hope you gambled with me in round 2, because I cleaned up.

I took the over on Cammalleri's points in the series against the Penguins (4.5 points, he finished with 8), Montreal against the series game spread (2 1/2 games, which they covered by tying the series up at 2-2), and though I haven't won anything yet, Montreal's victory over the Penguins kept my two long shot bets alive. I took the Canadiens winning the Eastern Conference and the Cup at odds of 13/2 and 16/1 respectively. I'm not sure if either those will pay out, but my wins with Cammalleri and the series spread already gave me a profit even if I lose those two long shot bets. I also laid money down on Chicago after they won game 1, put a bunch of money on Vancouver winning game five and did well there.

Looking at this round, most of the props are closed because I'm getting to this late. But take a look at the Stanley Cup odds.

TeamOdds to win Stanley Cup
Chicago 11/10
San Jose 13/5
Philadelphia 3/1
Montreal 7/1

I scanned through the prop bets and didn't see as many as I liked in the second round, but did take the under for Joe Thornton (it was set at 6.5 points, he's at 0 through a single game so far) and Chicago to win the series. After Montreal's game 1 loss, their odds to win the Stanley Cup increased quite a bit, and are fairly attractive at 7/1 long shots again at this stage of the game.

Now might be the time to lay a big bet down on a team you're pretty confident in. Looking at the field, Chicago is absolutely the favourite and I'd say they have a pretty good shot at winning it all. Niemi is playing great, they're getting timely scoring. They're facing a Sharks team that, I believe, is still mentally fragile. When they get through the West, they'll be facing the 18th or 19th ranked team from the regular season. Though the payout isn't very good at 11/10, I'd be pretty confident in a big money Chicago push.

As series progress, Bodog will throw up series prices occasionally. If you were confident in a team heading into the series at 0-0, then you should be confident in a team at 1-1 or down 1-0 or 2-1. You'll get some favourable odds on good teams if you wait for Bodog to put the series prices up then. There's none up now, but keep an eye out.
